The Ear Institute is pleased to host the Coachella Valley’s newly formed cochlear implant support group.  These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for educational and social discourse between CI recipients, their families and any interested individuals. Past speakers have included CI audiologists and CI surgeons.

Cochlear implantation provides hearing to deafened individuals, and patients are able to hear their friends, family, and the world around them.  Dr. Kato is the valley’s only cochlear implant surgeon, and has already changed the lives of many profoundly deaf and hard of hearing individuals.  She will perform the first bilateral, simultaneous implant in May, at Eisenhower Medical Center.
