Ever been told that there is “nothing to do” for that annoying ringing or buzzing sound in your ears? Not true! Patients report excellent relief from the Zen program from Widex and the custom-built Neuromonics device. Both available at The Ear Institute. Call for your consultation today!
The Ear Institute is pleased to host the Coachella Valley’s newly formed cochlear implant support group. These meetings are a wonderful opportunity for educational and social discourse between CI recipients, their families and any interested individuals. Past speakers have included CI audiologists and CI surgeons.
Veterans should first check with the VA, as they may be eligible for free hearing aids through the VA. For all others, Consumer Reports recommends purchasing hearing aids at an ENT (Ear, Nose and Throat) or Otologist’s office. www.consumerreports.org/health/healthy-living/home-medical-supplies/hearing/hearing-aids
Cochlear implantation provides hearing to deafened individuals, and patients are able to hear their friends, family, and the world around them. Dr. Kato is the valley’s only cochlear implant surgeon, and has already changed the lives of many profoundly deaf and hard of hearing individuals. She will perform the first bilateral, simultaneous implant in May, at Eisenhower Medical Center.
Severe to profound hearing loss can be a severe handicap for many individuals. Losing touch with our friends and loved ones is a serious impairment. Surgical solutions, such as cochlear implants and others can greatly improve one’s ability to hear and quality of life.
